Remainder is a field reader from Willsway Studios. This page says what the site keeps, and what it does not do with it.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it or rent it to advertisers or data brokers.

Your data is used to run your account, your access, and your own desk. A reading is rules, word lists, and scores. No AI model reads your paste. No AI model is trained on your data.

A reading

Reading needs a free account with a confirmed email, or an earlier purchase. Once you are in, you can paste a page or open a link. The reading runs in your browser. Opening a link fetches the page so the main text can be extracted, then the text comes back to the browser. That fetch is not saved as an article.

The browser keeps the current paste in its own storage so a refresh does not drop it. Clearing the box, or clearing the browser storage, removes it. We do not store the article body.

An account

An account is a name, an email, and a password. The password is stored as a sign-in check, not as the password you typed. You can also continue with Google or with X when those sign-ins are turned on. Those services send a basic profile and an email. We do not ask them for your contacts, your posts, or a card.

A session can record when it expires, and the sign-in table can hold an IP address and the browser string. We send a confirmation link and, once, a welcome note from wws@willswaystudios.com. The confirmation token is stored as a hash, with the email, until it expires. Mail goes out over SMTP. If no mail host is set, the sender uses smtp.gmail.com.

Free month

A visitor who is not signed in gets no access. A free account gets 30 days of full access once its email is confirmed. The month starts at confirmation. Accounts confirmed before October 6, 2026 get 30 days from that date. The month is kept on the account, not in the browser. One email address gets one free month: capitals, a +tag, and Gmail dots count as the same address. If an account is deleted, a one-way hash of the email stays so deleting and signing up again does not restart the free month.

Saved readings

If you save a reading, we keep the title, the link, the domain, the byline, the publish time, a hash of the text, the word count, a short excerpt of each marked move, the engine version, and the time. We do not keep the article. You can delete one reading or all of them from the desk, and you can export the file. A save stores the shared-learning flag off. The list you open is only your rows.

The owner of the site may look at saved readings to improve the rules. Nothing in the app promotes a save by itself. A change to the shared reader is a hand edit: a word list, a baseline, a note, or a test example. That is not AI training.

Payment

We are not taking payments right now, and no checkout is offered. Paid access may be offered later. If it is, we will update this page and the terms first. Earlier purchases of the field copy went through PayPal, or a Venmo pay link. We do not see your card number. When PayPal reported a payment completed, we kept the transaction id, the status, the amount, and the payer email, so the copy could unlock. Anyone who bought keeps unlimited access. A refund or a reversal from PayPal can close the copy.

Who else handles data

The deployed site is hosted on Vercel. Account and payment rows are stored in Postgres (Neon when a database URL is set). Vercel Analytics counts page views. The typefaces Newsreader and Public Sans are requested from Google Fonts. None of these receive the article body as a stored reading.

PayPal and, if you used the pay link, Venmo handled earlier payments. Google and X handle their own sign-in.

Delete your data

Signed in, open the account page and choose Delete my account. The page asks you to confirm. That deletes the account, the sessions, Google or X links, saved readings, and the free-month record (the one-way email hash described above stays). A completed PayPal payment stays for the books (transaction id, status, amount, and payer email) and is no longer tied to the account. The desk account, WILLSWAY, cannot use this button.
